Course Description:
Exploring Social Studies is a course intended for children at the developmental level of second and third grade. This course introduces students to the five lenses of social studies: culture, civics, economics, geography, and history. Students will learn foundational skills and concepts related to social studies as a discipline, laying the groundwork for more in-depth work with these lenses in future social studies courses. Students will also have opportunities to see how the lenses of social studies work together to create a full picture of people and events of the past and present.
